Ladonia Fossil Day |
National Fossil Day Celebration: October 19, 2024 We're looking forward to another fun time at the river when we have Fossil Day in October. Mark your calendars! (Note that when we celebrate out here it's always the Saturday following National Fossil Day! This is a come and go event! Starting around 9:00 am, come join us to see what fossils come from the North Sulphur River and talk to the pros. Dallas Paleontological Society will have members here to help ID what you have found in the past or that day. It's a come and go event, so be prepared to take a journey into the river and look for fossils. We will be located in the parking lot on FM 2990 at the North Sulphur River. There are orange signs pointing to Ladonia Fossil Park. If you were here last year, note the new route which enters from the north side of the river. Bring cash for lunch from Big D's food vendor or bring your own snacks. Don't forget to pack extra water and bring something to carry your finds in. We will have port-a-potties available. Special thanks to Mick Tune and the Dallas Paleontological Society for all their expertise and involvement in this celebration of National Fossil Day. See you then! |
